Description Bob Miller 2013-11-03 16:04:54 UTC
When a comet is selected from the list of objects, the data displayed in the Positions tab is gibberish. See description below.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select Pointing, Find Object, Comets
2. Select any comet in the list, click on Details
3. The orbital element info in the General tab seems to be correct. The Distance, Magnitude and Size are always zero, which should not be the case
4. Select the Position tab. Information is gibberish.
Actual Results:
See Steps to Reproduce

Expected Results:
The expected results are similar to what is seen when selecting an asteroid. The asterioid and comet files seem to have the same structure. When an asteroid is selected, the information displayed in the General and Positions tabs are correct.

There is a fix for this bug in the latest build, but I don't think it has made it into any of the major distributions yet. Also it seems to require KDE 4.12, which is still in RC state I believe. I have back-ported the fix to the KDE 4.11 version of KStars with the help of the OpenSuse Build Service. The repository is here: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/m-g-k:/branches:/openSUSE:/13.1:/Update/standard/
