Kile config dialog; "underline" selected but not applied

When opening the config dialog for syntax highlighting, kile (and kate, so presumably katepart) do not apply or save the attribute "underline" for a style when it is selected (see screenshot; notice "Keyword" is not underlined). Also, editing the syntax file directly doesn't apply the underline attribute:

1. For kile, add 'underline="1"' to any itemData (say, Keyword) in ~/.kde/share/apps/katepart/syntax/latex.xml.
2. Start kile and open some file, and notice that Keywords are not underlined, and in the config dialog "underline" will not be selected.
3. The same happens for kate.

A workaround is to edit the file ~/.kde/share/config/katesyntaxhighlightingrc directly. For example, to add underlining to keywords in kile, go to the section

[Highlighting LaTeX - Schema kile - Normal]

and find the Keyword line, which looks like

LaTeX:Keyword=0,ff800101,ff60ffff,0,0,,,,,,---

The entries are in the form

LaTeX:<name>=<int (??)>,<fgcolor>,<selcolor>,
	,,<strikeout>,<underline>,
	<bgcolor>,<selbgcolor>,<???>,---

(I'm not sure what the first and last are) Change the seventh entry to 1, save the file, and start kile (or kate). Now keywords will be underlined.

However, if *any* of the underline attributes are changed for any styles, *all* those which were set to underline in katesyntaxhighlightingrc will be removed and lost.

I haven't used Kile in several years and don't have much occasion to use LaTeX any more.
