when adding tags, digiKam adds these accoring to the settings to the pic or to xml-files. Earlier versions could handle douzends of subsequently addied tags, even with douzends or even hundreds of pic per tag ("key word"). Now, since digiKam 3.40, I experience "hangers". Even the facts, that some processes should run in parallel, digiKam can not handle thes events properly. Pics are NEF/jpg from NIKON D800, most of the time with sizes of 45 MB and 20 MB, respective.. As digiKAM freezes, regular help system (bug reporting) is not available any more Several eboot does not seem to change anything. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start adding tags 2. add a number of tags including several to many pics per tag 3. experience freezing digiKam Actual Results: digiKAM freezes Expected Results: digiKAM shoukld handle those events without any limits- especially fot the background, that it runs 8hopefully) in severel parllel processes.
Run digiKam in a console and look trace written... Gilles Caulier
