Description Joe Herrmann 2013-10-31 12:46:49 UTC
Kmix does not show any playback devices, when opened and simply displays "No playback devices"
In the setting/audio setup it now only reports PulseAudio Sound Server.
Right after the installation of OpenSuse (4 days ago) it did work, though. I tried to install my 5.1 speaker system in the kmix "Sound and Video Configuration" window and got two devices: One was the Analog On Board system and the 2. the Barts HD something for the Radeon card) Now both are gone.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I have set the analog on board system as default (no. 1) and had some problems in the Virtual box: no sound came from my virtual Win7 into the audio system. So I opened the Yast's Sound Configuration. I have set the analog system as the primary sound card and pressed ok. Now the system wanted for whatever reasons to delete 5-6 entries which looked live device driver (!?) (had no damned idea what this had to do with those 2 sound devices) and clicked the first time no and an hour or so later yes, in the hope it would change the Virtual box problem. I then opened kmix and ... had no more devices there. In the config of kmix is now only a certain PulseAudio Sound Server. I still can play music with Amorok, but can't change the volume with its volume control and the virtual win7 also does not play a simple beep.
Actual Results:
kmix isn't doing its job

Expected Results:
kmix should work again
