Please option to enable mic boost using kmix. Right now I have to use alsamixer for it.

Obviously the precise controls available will depend on the sound hardware, but if suppported by your sound device then the mic boost channels are available and can be added to the mixer (they may not be shown by default).  See the screen show for an ATI SB device.
