Description Christian González 2013-10-12 18:41:31 UTC
Steps to reproduce the problem here easily, on Kubuntu 13.10:
* Connect a second monitor, adjust the resolutions, extend your desktop (to the right e.g.).
* Open Youtube or any Video in the browser, start the video, click the fullscreen button - now you can watch the video on one of the two monitors fullscreen, the other one shows still the desktop.
* now press the AudioVolumeUp button on your laptop

-> what happens: plasma? randr? crashes? - all applications continue, even the video, after a short delay, and both monitors have changed to the "clone" mode, showing both 1024x768px (which none of my monitors has a native resolution).

How can I provide more info?
Comment 1 Christian González 2013-10-12 18:46:30 UTC
Oh, additional info: this only happens under the proprietary nvidia driver, under nouveau everything is ok.
I think this is an invalid bug then?

assume you are using ksceen in ubuntu 13.10
Comment 3 Christian González 2013-10-23 11:57:23 UTC
Yes, kscreen, von Kubuntu 13.04 and now 13.10. Probl m occurs under Intel driver as well, but less frequently.

Please attach gdb to any of the processes that crashes, reproduce the crash and upload a backtrace. This is most probably not a KScreen issue.
Comment 5 Alex Fiestas 2013-11-13 22:45:52 UTC
This is a problem in the driver, KScreen has nothing to do with sound and we don't have the "power" to break all your app's.

So closing this bug as resolved/upstream.
