It would be extected that Hue would change the hue of the brush-dab according to the selected colours. Saturation would modify the saturation of the selected colour, and value would modify the value of the selected colour.

Instead, Hue results in mostly black, with occasional colour, saturation switches between cyan and red and value only affects grey-scale.
