Description Doug 2013-10-07 03:05:24 UTC
Actual version in Help-About is 4.10.5.
I created an account and selected the account type Investment, start date of 1/1/2012 with a starting balance of $100. I decided the account type should have been Savings. I deleted edited the starting balance to 0, and tried to delete the account, but the delete option is grayed out. I tried a reconcile, and the delete option is still grayed out. I checked the recommendations in the help file, but still cannot delete the account.
I can rename the account. I can rename the associated Institution. I cannot delete either the institution or the account.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. This is a continuing problem even after closing and restarting the program.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
cannot delete the zero balance investment account.

Expected Results:
It should have presented the option to delete the account.

I'm new to KMyMoney. I downloaded and installed it today. But I am not a beginner, I am pretty well versed in computer systems, being a former Senior IT Infrastructure Analyst. I know a bit about programming and databases. If you can tell me how to manually edit the data structure, I'm sure I can do it.

4.10.5 is the version of KDE, not KMyMoney, which is probably 4.6.3, if you can confirm it.

Changing the opening balance to 0 does not delete the opening transaction, which may still need to be deleted. I am also assuming you did not reference the account in any schedule, which would also prevent deletion.
