My GPS able camera (Canon EOS 6D) does not only tag / geolocate the pictures but can also store a full GPS track (setable by an option; storage freqency is also setable). This track is stored on the memory card in the directory /MISC/GPS/ with one file per day with the name *.LOG (it's nearly NMEA format). I'd love to see the digikam import feature be improved to also import the track. (Currently I have to do that manualy). As I have digikam configured to create a new directory per day the relevant track should go into that according directory. (Additional feature request: it would be perfect if at the same time gpsbable could be run to translate that track in KML or GPX...) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Insert the memory card in the computer 2. Import pictures Actual Results: No track copyed to the hard disk Expected Results: Track should be copyied
Perhaps this could be done as a script for imported files? No idea though if the scripting abilities are on par for that at the moment, but in my opinion digikam should not itself interface with the other files than reported by the import plugin. What do you think?
Teemu, With 3.0.0, a regression have been introduced. 2.x has script execution feature during download. Due to Qt4 model/view port, this feature have been disabled. Gilles Caulier
@Teemu Import scripting is restored since a while. Perhaps we can provide by default a script to process GPS traces from camera, or at least propose scripts as example in the online documentation. Best Gilles
