Just discovered that .cache/telepathy/avatars/gabble/jabber/ contains 266.737 files (381.9MiB), and I'm quite sure that this is not normal. It contains thousands of files for each contact: hundreds of the same avatar image, hundreds of *.mime.* files. I removed all of them, restarted the pc but the problem is still there: the files number is increasing again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. add a jabber/gtalk account Actual Results: thousand of files for each contact in .cache/telepathy/avatars/gabble/jabber/ Expected Results: one avatar image/mime file for each contact?
Known bug in TpQt. It has been fixed upstream (but not released)
Confirm this issue too - 287363 files for about 400 contacts in contactlist at now, I use KDE Telepathy 0.8, but maybe there are files from old version. Can you describe in which version this issue fixed?
Seems that on Ubuntu 13.10 with KDE Telepathy 0.7.80 this issue is still here: Package: kde-telepathy-contact-list version 0.7.80-0ubuntu1~ubuntu13.10.1~ppa1 ~/.cache/telepathy/avatars/gabble/jabber - on 3 days after clearing folder - 32304 files created, but user have about 40 contacts in contactlist.
