Thanks for the bug report. (In reply to comment #0) > where is the pb with kde ? Not in Dolphin ;-) kdemultimedia has two different thumbnailers (ffmpegthumbs and mplayerthumbs). If you know which one is being used on your system (unfortunately, I don't know a good way to find out right now), this report can be re-assigned properly.

If you know which one is being used on your system rosa uses gstreamer for kde thumbnailing i assume gstreamer uses ffmpeg it seems it's a general pb : - Romp (rosa multimedia app) uses mplayer : same pb , views in landscape instead of portrait - vlc same pb, views in landscape instead of portrait - totem uses gstreamer : same pb , views in landscape instead of portrait - picasaweb uses flashplayer : no pb perhaps there is a tag in mp4 file about portrait/landscape mode as in photo file .
> perhaps there is a tag in mp4 file about portrait/landscape mode as in photo file Yes, but the decoder needs to read and handle it. If stand-alone mplayer and/or ffmpeg work correctly, but KDE applications do not, please reopen. In this case the decoders handle rotation, but need assistance from the applications.
