Simply put, I think the user should be able to set the default text handler to the chat plasmoid, so that it handles ALL incoming and outgoing (user initiated) chats.

This would make possible a workflow using just the krunner plugin and the chat plasmoid (both of which can be managed with keyboard shortcuts).

Dear user, unfortunately Telepathy is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
