It self explanatory in summary. Any times i push f3 on any xml documents and close viewer my krusader crashed at once. Same behaviour on arch (testing repo) and fedora (mainstream) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Press F3 on any xml file 2. See garbled and unformatted output. Close viewer 3. Krusader is dead
Can't reproduce. Please provide the backtrace tot make the report more useful ,since you can reproduce the crash every time. [1] http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
i cant do it on arch. kde crash dialog isnt pop up. i sent report with trace througn abrt in fedora. Url is https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=996464 may be there will be some usefull information. i can privately send xml which causing problem
> msg = 0x1a6d570 "The program 'krusader' received an X Window System error.\nThis probably reflects a bug in the program.\nThe error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.\ This part in the fedora tracker is interesting. The problem is probably not related with particular xml file.
despite years passed i still experience this problem over and over. is concerns fedora (24 on this monent) and arch. There is no problem on stable debian, rosa and bunch of other distros i've tried this what i get running krusader from console loaded the Generic plugin krusader(8877)/kparts KParts::PartManager::addPart: Part ' "" ' has a widget "kwebkitpart" with a focus policy of NoFocus. It should have at least a ClickFocus policy, for part activation to work well. (krusader:8877): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type 'GdkDisplayManager' (krusader:8877): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion 'result != 0' failed (krusader:8877): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_new: assertion 'G_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (object_type)' failed (krusader:8877): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid (NULL) pointer instance (krusader:8877): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_connect_data: assertion 'G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed (krusader:8877): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid (NULL) pointer instance (krusader:8877): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_connect_data: assertion 'G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed (krusader:8877): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type 'GdkDisplay' (krusader:8877): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion 'result != 0' failed (krusader:8877): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_type_register_static: assertion 'parent_type > 0' failed (krusader:8877): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion 'result != 0' failed (krusader:8877): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_new: assertion 'G_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (object_type)' failed as i see there is problem in internal viewer/editor paired with kwebkitpart. funny fact that konqueror itself opens xml quite in way it should. so, somehow kwebkitpart involved. i cannot use debug (saying frankly not want to) on my work machine. may be this problems already disappeared from git branch but we (i mean fedora users and maintainers) still ship old good stable release
Please test again with latest stable version (2.5.0)
Fixed in 2.7.1 - xml files view correctly in all modes. Small and medium size (60 Mb) view correctly
