Description Martin Walch 2013-09-24 20:43:26 UTC
When viewing the page

or the embedded image

http://pooyak.com/p/progjpeg/jpegload.cgi?o=1

with Konqueror's embedded image viewer, it loads fine until near the EOF where it fails with

> Improper call to JPEG library in state 208

As loading takes a while, I tried it four times. Failed each time. When loading the file locally or in gwenview, everything is fine. As far as I can tell, the file is sane.

Clearing the cache did not help.

The same error message can also be found in bug #80727 (RESOLVED/FIXED).

Reproducible: Always

Nice test site, hope it stays around until someone has time to investigate the issue.

For the first link, after loading/displaying the image progressively, it eventually aborts, and shows a "broken image" icon instead.

For the second link, on my system it eventually displayed the image correctly.

Still fails in Konqueror 4.13.0.

Still happens with Konqueror 5.0.97 from KDE Applications 18.04.3.

Dear user,

KHTML (and KJS) was a long time more or less unmaintained and got removed in KF6.

Please migrate to use a QWebEngine based HTML component.

We will do no further fixes or improvements to the KF5 branches of these components beside important security fixes.

For security issues, please see:

https://kde.org/info/security/

Sorry that we did not fix this issue during the life-time of KHTML.

Greetings
Christoph Cullmann
