It would be great if I could select multiple items with STRG-Click and move them into subcategories with one drag-and-drop action. Right now I have to move each single item by itself, which takes too long.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I will be closing this bug.
