Description Alex 2013-09-09 16:49:23 UTC
When 'Nepomuk Semantic Desktop Search' and 'Nepomuk File Indexer' are disable, Kde take around 5 minutes to get up

Until that, any command is slow..

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to System Settings
2. Go to 'Desktop Search'
3. On first tab, disable 'File Indexer, and Desktop Search'
4 .Logout and Login again
Actual Results:
Slow startup speed.

Expected Results:
Normal startup speed

My system is a debian 7 stable, running kde 4.8.4, without any modification.

Your KDE version 4.8.4 is too old and no longer maintained by KDE developers. Please update to latest stable (KDE 4.10.5) or previous stable version (KDE 4.9.5).

You might also try recently released version 4.11.1, but KDE 4.11 is still in stabilization phase.

If your distribution still offers support for the old KDE version, please report this issue to the bug tracker of the distribution.
