How to reproduce : * Press 'PrintScreen' on keyboard * Ksnapshot windows appear with fullscreen screenshot. * Setup a 'Capture mode:' ( ex: Rectangular region ) , and a 'Snapshot delay' ( ex: 2s ) * Close snapshot * Press again 'PrintScreen' Actual result : * Ksnapshot windows appear with fullscreen screenshot. * Ksnapshot show the previous setup ( Rectangular region , 2s delay ) but didn't executed it. Expected result : * Ksnapshot remember the setting , and do it, ex : * screen freeze , and the tooltip 'Ksnapshot will screenshot in 2...1...0s" appear on top * then the interactive crop tool appear on screen to select a region. * then only, Ksnapshot windows appear with the selected part in the viewer as a feedback for user.
I think it is done on purpose. Starting the application it first grabs an undelayed full screenshot, so that the user, who does not remember what mode he selected last time, will get the user interface immediately. Keeping open to collect more opinions.
I'm back 3 month later, no opinions were collected. I think I'm the only one with this concern about the KDE screenshoter ergonomy. If it's work for other, well , I shall surrender :-) can be marked as resolved, wontfix or invalid.
Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years and I will be closing this bug. Spectacle is the replacement for ksnapshot now. Please test again and file a new bug for Spectacle if you still have issues. Thank you!
Thank you Andrew Crouthamel for the maintainance of the bug tracker! I totally understand.
