Description Torsten Rohlfing 2013-09-02 00:15:27 UTC
When I label images in Nikon's VIewNX 2 application using color labels (e.g., "Red"), these labels show up in the "XMP" tab of the "Metadata" panel. But when I filter the album using these labels, the labelled images don't show, as if there was no label set.

This happens with both NEF and JPEG files.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Label image using color, e.g., "Red" in ViewNX
2. Select "Red" label in "FIlters" panel in digiKam
3.
Actual Results:
Labelled pictures disappear along with unlabelled ones.

Expected Results:
Labelled pictures should be displayed, unlabelled ones disappear.

I have uploaded an example JPEG image (with "red" label set) here:

Torsten,

As Color Labels, Capture NX has a pick label feature as digiKam ? Pick Labels are color flags (green, orange, Red) used to identify which image must be processed in workflow...

I would to know if Pick Labels imported from NX to digiKam work ? If not, which tag from XMP is used by NX to host Pick Labels

Gilles:

Sorry, but this is still not working in 3.4.0, which I just upgraded to (see attached version display).

As per your request, I am attaching a screenshot of the XMP panel for one of these labeled images. I hope this is what you were asking for. If not, let me know and I can send more information.

Best,
  Torsten

XMP panel for an image tagged with "Red" label in VIewNX2

This is the XMP panel displayed for an image labeled as "Red" by ViewNX2, but not shown when using the "Red" label filter.

digiKam version display

This is release 3.4.0, but despite earlier patch label filtering using "color" labels is still not working.

I previously attached an example image to this report:

https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=82099

I just confirmed that it a) is labeled as "Red" and b) does not show when filtering by that label.

Let me know if you need additional test images.

Importing your photo to my collection with 3.4.0 set Red label to item as expected..

Filtering icon view with red label show also this item. All work perfectly here...

try to use Image/Sync DB with Image metadata and try again filtering....
