Programming (typing, not uploading or compiling) in an Arduino sketch, nothing special. Default Desktop Settings dialog window was opened at that time (if this matters).

Well, that's likely:
I've got a new GTX760 running the binary blob (325.15) from rpmfusion-rawhide-fc20 repository, and some applications (tvtime: sometimes blocking effect) and games (machineball: unstable framerate) show odd behaviour.
Even using the opensource nouveau drivers, so it appears to be something related with the new Kepler nvidia cards.

I must say that this bug is rather uncommon, in total, it happened twice in two weeks.

The computer was left working for a few days. I was not present. Suddenly I saw it crashed when I came back home. I was doing nothing on PC at the time of crash.

Btw PC was under some load with FTP server online  and Folding At Home working.

plasma-desktop (4.11.2) on KDE Platform 4.11.2 using Qt 4.8.5

I have more or less the same problem: a random crash of the plasma-desktop after some time. In my case it is not 4 days but more regular, anywhere between 4 minutes after startup to 4 hours or 2 days. I have not yet been able to run the system for much more than that because after a day or two the grapghical desktop crashes (no longer responds to keybord or mouse). Login from terminal is then still possible (and I see Xorg at 100% CPU) and locally Alt+SysRq R+E+I+S+U+B works but that's all. I also have NVidea GTX 760 card with binary drivers and heavily suspect it is related to that. I'm running the stock kernel for openSUSE 12.3.

Crash is caused by NVIDIA binary driver. Please upgrade/downgrade it, and/or report it to  NVIDIA developers. You could also try Open Source drivers, for 2D/office work, they should be sufficient.
