Tried to reproduce on rekonq-2.4.2, but the link opens here without any problems. Do you still have this problem in a more recent version of rekonq, such as 2.4.2?

Development on Rekonq ceased four years ago, and it has been unmaintained since then. KDE recommends using Falkon instead.
