I have a problem with dolphin+preview with a particular pdf file [1], when I put it in /tmp folder: I think it starts the preview generation but as result I got endless creation of gs_* files that fills the partition (and no preview); the only way to stop this is toggle preview button or delete/move the pdf. This strange behaviour with this pdf happens only in /tmp; moving it in new location doesn't trigger the bug; and not all pdf files give problems: among all the files tested just another showed the error [2]. [1] https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9472154/gazz.pdf [2] https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9472154/qt.pdf Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enable preview in dolphin (and "postscript, pdf, dvi" plugin in preview settings) 2. Put [1] or [2] in /tmp [1] https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9472154/gazz.pdf [2] https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9472154/qt.pdf Actual Results: No preview but generation of /tmp/gs_* files filling the partition Expected Results: Generate pdf preview icon
Thanks for the detailed bug report! The ps/pdf/dvi thumbnailer source is here: http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kdegraphics-thumbnailers.git But I could not find a suitable bugzilla product. I hope that kio/thumbnail fits...
I forgot to mention that another way to stop gs_* files pollution is open a different folder or close dolphin; this made me decide to file the bug as Dolphin matter.
(In reply to comment #2) > I forgot to mention that another way to stop gs_* files pollution is open a > different folder or close dolphin This is to be expected. Dolphin kills all pending preview jobs in either of these cases.
Christoph, not sure why you added me to the bug, i've nothing to do with the pdf thumbnailer.
Oh, then I assumed wrong, excuse me.
Is this still an issue with KDE Frameworks 5.47? If so, can you attach one or both of the problematic PDF files to the ticket? The links have gone dead.
