99 times out of 100 I want to create a PDF to save, not spend paper. That's for the paperless office. It is pretty irritating that every KDE app every single time comes up with the default CUPS printer, and that can't be changed in system settings to default to "print to PDF" because that's not a CUPS printer. Using paper is the exception, not the rule, and I would like defaults to reflect that! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Print anything - konqueror, kmail, etc. 2. 3. Actual Results: Default printer is the default CUPS printer. Expected Results: Default printing is "print to PDF".
install cups-pdf that allows one to setup a virtual printer that will generate a PDF from anything sent to it and set cups-pdf as default printer.
That being said the print-dialog is another component.
Hi, kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years. KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have implemented this wish. If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue. We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component. Greetings Christoph Cullmann
