- What I was doing when the application crashed:
A list of packages update. Unselected one of the security packages since I previously had some pakage dependency issues with it. (mozilla-nss certs...) 
After dependencies checks for the list of the packages, it reported the mentioned dependecy problem but the security package I unselected previously was selected again. Clicking on the unselect button for the same package triggered the crash.
As a mention, I use a number of supplemental repositories and the kernel is not the stock one.
