Description mattloss 2013-08-19 22:54:21 UTC
I have set VLC player to be my default player for all multimedia, audio and video. However, it absolutely will not allow me to use it as default for MKV files... when I click a file, it will start playing with the next player on the list and move VLC to the bottom of the list of preferences.

Have reset to default countless times and have also tried both phonon backends to with no luck. I can make VLC play files with the "open with" dialog, but can't set as default.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Double-click MKV file
2. MKV file with play with 2nd list default application
3.VLC player will be moved to bottom of list of default apps for MKV files

Have only had this issue since upgrading to KDE 4.11 from 4.10.5.
