When editing a pic, selecting part of that original pic, one wants to save the selected are as new pic version.

Instead of this, digiKam saves the complete pic

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run editor
2. select a rectngular area as new pic selection
3. save this selection
4. instead of partly selction, digiKam save the complete pic!?!?!?
Actual Results:
4. instead of partly selction, digiKam save the complete pic!?!?!?

Expected Results:
if one works on a poics (or whatever), one exspects of course, that results correlet to expection - what-you-see-is-what-you-get "WYSIWYG"

If a canvas selection is editor is done, Saving the image do not save selection instead full image.

It's not a bug. It's work like this. No other tool work like this. This is not a dysfunction. It's your whish to see that working in this way.

My tip : crop to selection and save image using a new version. You don't lose original.
