Description Stephan Olbrich 2013-08-08 18:22:12 UTC
When getting mails from a pop3 account and moving them to other folders with a filter, some of them are not correctly moved.
An error message is shown:
Lokale Ordner: Die Nachricht „1375043349.R799.chaos-desktop“ kann nicht verschoben werden.
(Local Folders: Could not move message)
The message is not visible in the Inbox anymore.
The message is visible in the folder where it should be.
Every time I open the Inbox, the error message is repeated and a new copy of the message shows up in the destination folder.
If I check the underlying maildir structure:

$ find .local-mail.directory -name 1375640627.R334.chaos-desktop
.local-mail.directory/.foo.directory/bar/new/1375640627.R334.chaos-desktop
.local-mail.directory/Posteingang/new/1375640627.R334.chaos-desktop

The message in the Inbox is the one which should be moved.
The message in the other folder is a completely different mail!

As far as I understand the maildir concept, the filenames have to be unique!

This bug might be related to 265653, but I cannot reopen the bug.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Adding self as CC... I can confirm this is a problem for me on kde-4.11.2 on Fedora 19, and has been for many moons.
Comment 2 Stephan Olbrich 2013-11-13 19:12:29 UTC
I still have the issue with 4.11.3 (Kubuntu PPA packages)
Comment 3 Joshua J. Kugler 2014-05-20 22:45:58 UTC
Still an issue in 4.13.
Comment 4 Denis Kurz 2016-09-24 18:10:54 UTC
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Comment 5 Joshua J. Kugler 2016-09-26 06:24:26 UTC
I still get this constantly on KMail version 4.14.3
Comment 6 Joshua J. Kugler 2016-09-26 06:24:50 UTC
I still get this constantly on KMail version 4.14.3 (KDE 4.14.13).
Comment 7 Laurent Montel 2016-09-26 06:50:40 UTC
but we need info against kdepim > 5.1
Comment 8 Joshua J. Kugler 2016-09-26 16:45:12 UTC
Are there KDE 5.x packages for Ubuntu 14.04? I'm still on 14.04, since it is LTS.
Comment 9 Denis Kurz 2017-01-07 23:47:52 UTC
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
