This feature could expand the feathered region over the edge of the convas probably.
Hi Yustas, There is a feather selection option in the Select menu -- isn't that sufficient?
Created attachment 82486 [details] The difference exists No, it is not. The problem hides in the selecting region restriction by the canvas border.

Created attachment 83804 [details] the final render
I tried to convert the drawing on the wall from the real photo to the blender texture image. The initial photo and the final render result I attached here. I used three packages for editing the picture: Photoshop, Gimp and Krita. Working in Photosop is the speedest way, Gimp way is the second one. Working in Krita is the slowest thing. For example in Photoshop after converting the selection area to the layer this selection disappears automatically, you do not need to do the additional deselecting action. And so on. Is the limitations of the functionality is the best way?
As for your last point... We've also had people ask to keep the selection after doing an action like copying the selection to a new layer! It's really hard to please everyone :-(.
moving this to the correct subcomponent.
I'm sorry, but this simply doesn't tell us in enough detail what you want.
(In reply to Boudewijn Rempt from comment #8) > I'm sorry, but this simply doesn't tell us in enough detail what you want. I am sorry too for my frustrated explanation. It is simple. When you choose any selecting tool there is not the feather parameter in the docker tool option. Sometimes it is extremely important to establish the feathering level of the selecting area before to use the selecting tool. For example you can combine the different feathering levels to define the complicated selection area. My general question is why in Krita there are the limitations to define the parameters via the different ways? It is not convenient for the professional use.
