Description Gerold Jens Wucherpfennig 2013-07-17 20:19:18 UTC
MY WISH: the default Folder Icon in GREEN or YELLOW, but NOT BLUE!

Im my opinion KDE has too much blue icons!

Yes, it is still typical for KDE to use the letter
K everywhere and make everything blue,
(I use KDE since version 1.0.x)
but for widespread adoption it makes sense
to use more sane defaults.

Just try it:
1. Click at a folder with the right mouse button,
2. In the new popup-menu click at "Properties".
3. In the new folder window click at "Properties of the filetype".
4. In the new folder filetype window click at the FOLDER ICON.
5. In the icon chooser choose the category "Places" in the dropdown menu.
6. Click at the icon with the name "folder-green"

With these steps you can change the color of Folders.
(Though special folders icons will still be colored blue...)
Just try it and realize that e.g. in green
the folders look much more friendly!
Especially if the desktop background is in blue color!

Reproducible: Always

I missed:
7. Click at "OK"
8. Click at "OK"

If you have folders on the desktop
and the background is blue then
green is much more beatiful...

and the background is blue then
green is much more beautiful...

You can change the default folder icon with the "File Type Options" button on a folder's property dialog.
