(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kde Version: unknown (using KDE 2.2.0 ) Severity: wishlist Installed from: Debian Package 4:2.2.0-final-3 (testing/unstable) Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20010810 (Debian prerelease) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.9 OS/Compiler notes: Currently when the mousewheel is activated KDE assumes vertical scrolling whenever there is a vertical scrollbar present. However when there is only a horizontal scrollbar present it does not assume horizontal scrolling. I think it would be reasonable to let KDE assume horizontal scrolling in such cases. Secondly it would make sense to be able to specifically trigger horizontal scrolling when both horizontal and vertical scrollbars are present. Windows allows this using the Shift key as modifier; that is hold down Shift use the mouse wheel and the window scrolls horizontally don't hold down Shift use the mouse wheel and it scrolls vertically. This is a nice solution though it would be even nicer to have it be a regular KDE keybinding that could be set to any key. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog)
I am using KDE 3.2.1 and this would be so useful sometimes...
Same for me. Especially column view mode in Konqueror would benfit from that.
Probably time to close this bugreport... In KDE 3.3 horizontal scrolling is automatically used when there isn't any vertical slider, and the Alt key can be used to choose between horizontal and vertical scrolling.
I also vote for a close, or 'Works for me' (with KDE 3.4.x and 3.5 beta1).
