Start the system 2. 3. Actual Results: kcminit kdedaemon knotify all crash (in that order) Expected Results: proper start of KDE KDE worked fine after the initial installation of openSUSE 13.1 Milestone 2 (i586) and after a number of updates from repositories. I believe this problem started after the most recent update from the Packman repository. Thanks, Howard
Two of the three crashes happen in low level system code: > #11 0xb77819e4 in _dl_open (file=0x9f649e0 "/usr/lib/kde4/kcm_access.so", mode=-2147483647, caller_dlopen=caller_dlopen@entry=0xb6d7f649, nsid=-2, argc=argc@entry=4, argv=argv@entry=0xbff37374, env=0x9da9a10) at dl-open.c:656 That implies your system is broken "after the most recent update from the Packman repository.". Nothing can be done in the KDE side.
Thanks for the quick reply. I changed packages from the Packman versions to the openSuSE versions, and KDE behaves nicely again. Regards, Howard
