Description Udayendu Kar 2013-07-04 17:39:22 UTC
I have freshly installed a Fedora 19 GA with KDE as desktop. Earlier I was having some kjots file backup with .book extenssion. So when I tried to import them to the new kjots available in F19, I didn't found any import option in that apps. Only export options are available.

My installed package version is:
----
$ rpm -qa | grep kdepim
kdepim-libs-4.10.4-1.fc19.x86_64
kdepim-4.10.4-1.fc19.x86_64
kdepimlibs-kxmlrpcclient-4.10.4-2.fc19.x86_64
kdepim-runtime-libs-4.10.4-1.fc19.2.x86_64
kdepimlibs-akonadi-4.10.4-2.fc19.x86_64
kdepim-runtime-4.10.4-1.fc19.2.x86_64
kdepimlibs-4.10.4-2.fc19.x86_64
----

This is really an ugly bug and need to be fixed as soon as possible.

Here is some error details when I have executed the "/bin/kjots" command manually under the root user: http://fpaste.org/23040/

Thanks !
Uday

Akonadi will not run for root user for security purpose.

Use a regular user and try 'kjotsmigrator' (provided by kdepim-runtime or whatever its name is for Fedora) if the migration still doesn't work

Hi Christophe,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried the following:

- I put all my .book file under ~/.kde/share/apps/kjots directory
- Then run the command "kjotsmigrator --interactive" and Now I can see my files in the kjots GUI.

But is there a way to delete the unused "Local Notes" and "Notes" links that are available in the kjots GUI ? Its creating the unnecessary confusion.

Thanks !
