Description Silver Salonen 2013-07-03 09:36:33 UTC
When I move some e-mails to an IMAP-folder sometimes I get new e-mail notifications about these messages. Maybe it's related to these messages being marked as read with a delay?

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Move some e-mails to an IMAP folder
Actual Results:
I get notification about these moved messages being in the new IMAP folder

Expected Results:
No notifications should be given

If you moved them during check yes you will do.
but we have a check to avoid it.
but if you have mails arrived, you move manually during check you will have.
We can't avoid it.
Comment 2 Silver Salonen 2013-07-04 06:51:26 UTC
I did the move about 10-20 seconds after the e-mails arrived, so I guess it was not "during check"?
Comment 3 Silver Salonen 2013-07-04 06:55:28 UTC
Now I actually got this notification about e-mails that had been in the original folder for a day. So it does not have anything to do with e-mails' status 'new'.

?????
Ok it's not possible...
We have a timer so you can have a email after 1 day...
Comment 5 Silver Salonen 2013-07-04 07:44:38 UTC
What do you mean it's not possible? It just happened to me :D

1) I had 6 e-mails in a folder (from different dates).
2) I moved these e-mails to another folder
3) I got notification about these 6 e-mails being in another folder
Comment 6 Laurent Montel 2013-07-04 08:08:19 UTC
it's not possible because code forbid it ...
So perhaps your source it too old, but if theses items was not added, when we move them it will not add a notification.

Method is :
-> item was added
-> item was moved (before was stored in list of items added) => we will add notification
if not we can't have.

I still get new e-mail notifications after moving old e-mails to another folder. Can you please take a look at it again?
Comment 8 Silver Salonen 2013-09-05 18:31:12 UTC
Oh, one more weird thing.. I get bunch of notifications about these "new" e-mails the moment I quit KMail.. it seems like some of these notifications queue up somewhere and are release the moment you quit KMail.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
