Description Hu Zheng 2013-07-01 11:23:59 UTC
When new file created(such as downloaded a file) it should show and add at the last of the file list view, so the user can easily find it(just at the last), but not list by sort and then at the middle and hard to find, espeacially when the file name is not just in English. Windows add the new download file at the last, this is right and convenient!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download a new file.
Actual Results:
It is added to the list by sort.

Expected Results:
It should be added at the last to easy to find!

Sorry, but we always sort the files, and there are no plans to change that.

This does not necessarily mean that the file is easy to find. You might have to scroll the view down to see the last file.

BTW, the "Brainstorm" section of the forum is the best place to discuss ideas to add features or change the behaviour of KDE applications:

http://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=83

If many users support the idea at KDE Brainstorm, there is a higher chance that it might be considered.

I still think we should study this behavior as Windows XP! So it is easy to use!
Anyway, it is your choice.

Just curious, at what time does Windows sort the new files into the view? Only when you refresh or reopen the folder? It might also be an optimization to not cause continuous multiple relayouting when many files are added to a folder.
