Krita has an on-Canvas HUD for color and tool selection (default: right click). It would be useful (especially to users of Krita Sketch/Krita Desktop with canvas-only displaying enabled) to have an additional HUD when panning is invoked (default: spacebar), a bit like OpenCanvas 5.5 does (see linked video). The example shown allows users to: - Select more or less precisely canvas rotation - Select 90deg canvas rotation presets (N/S/W/E) - Control the zoom setting (also fit canvas, 100% zoom). A "previous zoom setting" button might be useful too - Mirror the image horizontally (the button state also conveniently shows the mirroring status - useful) Reproducible: Always
Confirmed. This is actually a regression since we used to have a very useful HUD.
WISHGROUP: Larger Usability Fixes It also needs interaction design when we move the task to phab.
This is neat. We might want to put this in the right-click popup palette area. This would benefit tablet users the most as they might not have a keyboard to work with. I would additionally add a button to go in and out of canvas-only mode since that is only accessible via keyboard shortcut and main menu. This can currently get you in a situation where you are locked in canvas-only mode.
Created attachment 125644 [details] ^ gif demo file of the HUD, mirror, zoom, rotation, fullscreen mode. I'm adding a GIF animation in attachment to show how the HUD via right-click on canvas in 4.2.x fulfill all the requests of this [wish] thread. Maybe this thread can be closed now?
I'm closing it since it's already implemented, just under right-click, not Space. @Eiko Yumi if you have any more requests, please just make a new feature request which would be more up-to-date from the get go :) @David you can ping us on IRC in case of reports like this, it's always nice to close something :D
