If a ~/.XCompose file is present — even if it's empty — when KDE is starting, dead keys (^") do not work under KDE applications. However there is no problem with non-KDE applications (chrome, firefox etc.). If the ~/.XCompose file is removed and KDE is restarting, dead keys works perfectly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Touch ~/.XCompose 2. Restart KDE 3. press ^ and e: it will be understood as "^e" rather than "ê" Actual Results: ^e is showed Expected Results: ê was expected

Do pure Qt applications work? Simply try running qtconfig.
Since Psi is a pure Qt application as far as I know I can say that I still encounter the problem with Qt pure applications.
