Description Aurélien 2013-06-19 14:47:54 UTC
If a ~/.XCompose file is present — even if it's empty — when KDE is starting, dead keys (^") do not work under KDE applications. However there is no problem with non-KDE applications (chrome, firefox etc.).
If the ~/.XCompose file is removed and KDE is restarting, dead keys works perfectly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Touch ~/.XCompose
2. Restart KDE
3. press ^ and e: it will be understood as "^e" rather than "ê"
Actual Results:
^e is showed

Expected Results:
ê was expected

Do pure Qt applications work? Simply try running qtconfig.
Comment 3 Aurélien 2013-06-28 12:16:49 UTC
Since Psi is a pure Qt application as far as I know I can say that I still encounter the problem with Qt pure applications.

No response; assuming it was fixed since then. FWIW it works for me.
