Description Thomas Fischer 2013-06-19 08:03:47 UTC
Currently, the selection tool of Okular allows to extract a region of a document as text or as a pixmap (same resolution as shown on screen). This solution is not satisfactory if a vector image like a diagram or a plot has to be extracted.

There exists a command line tool called "pdftocairo" which allows to specify a region of a PDF document and to render this region as PS, EPS, PDF, or SVG. However, figuring out the crop parameters requires trial and error. Thus, it would be a huge benefit if Okular could make use of the cropping and rendering of pdftocairo through its already existing selection feature.

Reproducible: Always
