Description Wolfgang Schindler 2013-06-18 10:00:59 UTC
My Desktop freezes completely when i am rightclicking an prefererd folder that contains an encrypted message. the pinentry dialog gets opened parallel with the contextmenu that is opened. Now i am unable to switch between applications o9r give any response in pinentry dialog or click any of the possibilities in the context menu.
The only possibility now is to switch to another virtual terminal, logon and kill the kontact process.
Now when returning to VT7 work is possible like before.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Be sure the opening of the preferred folder will show and have focus on an encrypted message
2. Go to another folder and wait until the given key gets ineffective
3. Rightclick on the preferred folder prepared in step 1
4. Now both the contextmenu and the pinentry dialog are opened in parallel manner
5. No posibility for any input
Actual Results:
Complete freeze of the Desktop

Expected Results:
Being able to work on, either by giving the key or choosing one of the contextmenu entries.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
