Hi, I'm trying out kde 4.11beta (4.10.80 to be exact) and have this kmail crash every time i fire up the application. It says: The Email program encountered a fatal error and will terminate now. The error was: Could not create collection sent-mail resourceId: 18 Downgrading to kde 4.10 does not solve the issue as there's some incompatible protocol (seems it was updated already by new kmail..something along "Incompatible protocol found, required 29, found 32.." In kde 4.11 this crash appears, after clicking OK on the msg window, kmail closes. Akonadi and all resources are (restarted) up and running. Interesting is that otherwise kmail is working, it asks for password to access kwallet, if I fill it in and dont click the crash-window, all IMAP resources start (successfully) synchronize and I see new mails in the list. Any ideas? I miss the comfort of my mail client :) Thanks, mark Reproducible: Always

Created attachment 80568 [details] kmail output on crash
Btw, i looke in akonaditray -> Configuration, went through all the IMAP resources, and indeed, in one of them the Trash folder was set to 'sent-mail' (not by me, prob. somehow corrupted), so i fixed that reference to an existing trash folder, restarted akonadi. But still kmail complaints the same when i try to run it.

I seem this as well on KDE 4.12 - kubuntu 14.04
The solution was for me to delete the akonadi database. But the error return again after a while. I also see that new mails show up - everything seems normal. Except that kmail has that modal dialog with the error sitting there.
I tried removing all imap-resources I had. But it did not solve the issue. Only afte rremoving the "Local folder" akonadi resouce this whent back to normal.
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
