Description Axel Krebs 2013-06-16 20:33:34 UTC
For some reason, I need searches for "Dsc", _not_ for "DSC".

Unfortunately, digiKam seems _not_ to differ "Dsc" from "DSC".

So, while running under LINUX, which is context-sensitive, digiKam "forgot" this ability, appearantly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. just search for "Dsc"
2. watch the hits deligently
3. digiKam finds "DSC", which is in contradiction to intended search for "Dsc"!!!
Actual Results:
Unsatisfying: digiKam is not context-sensitive, while operation system is.

Expected Results:
digiKam should work context sensitive

Which tool in GUI do you use to perform search exactly ?

Ok fine.

In advanced search, which text field do you use exactly to enter the query ?

In digiKam Setup/Misc panel, there is a settings about strings comparison. What to you see about this parameter ?

Which give-in-field? 		->"file name containing ..."
"digiKam Setup/Misc panel"? 	-> "natural"

Can you reproduce the problem using digiKam Linux AppImage bundle ? The last
bundle is available at this url:

We need a fresh feedback on this file using this version.

Maik,

I can confirm the non difference between capitalized or not of the search text engine.
