Description Emre 2013-06-15 12:33:11 UTC
I'm using Kmail2 against a locally running dovecot imap server which is keeping my mail archives since 2012. kmail is running in online mode. (not disconnected).

I let kmail sync the headers on the imap and waited around ~15 hours at normal process priority & disabled idle detection for nepomuk to complete the indexing. It is curious that it takes so long since mails are just headers and these are on SSD, but anyway...

So the indexing has finished and i search for the following:
emre matthew project
I know that there's an email from Emre to Matthew and the subject line contains project. This message is never found.
If I search only for emre then I can see that this message shows up in all the filtered messages.

Why doesn't kmail search for these in all From: To: and Subject: fields and match those messages?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run kmali against an IMAP server in online mode.
2. Manually find some message that you would like to search for
3. Using the search/find box on top of the message list, search for this mail by stating the sender name, receiver name and a keyword from the subject line.
4. See that this message is not found.
Actual Results:
Message is not found but it is there.

Expected Results:
Message should have been found.

Thank you Emre for your report and sorry for taking such a long time to reply to it. It is about a version of KMail which uses Nepomuk and is unmaintained. Thus closing. If you still see this issue with search please report a new bug. If you still have issues with search please open new reports. Please follow the following guide lines:

- use one report per exact issue you find.
- research for other bug reports about the same issue.
- state version you use
- use at minimum KDEPIM 4.14
- please note that Tools/Find Message may currently crash in KDEPIM 15.08, this is known and fixed in master, so please don´t report
- state exact steps to reproduce the issue.

Thank you and greetings from KDE Randa Meetings,
Martin
