Description Silver Salonen 2013-06-11 13:17:00 UTC
When someone sends me an event from MS Outlook invitation KMail just does not show it - an empty message is displayed.
Headers of the e-mail contain something like:

...
Content-Type: text/calendar; method=REQUEST;
	charset="utf-8"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook 14.0
Thread-Index: Ac5mjnsVHyLCPB3YQv+oozRCqgi25QAAFmfg
Content-Language: et

BEGIN:VCALENDAR
PRODID:-//Microsoft Corporation//Outlook 14.0 MIMEDIR//EN
VERSION:2.0
METHOD:REQUEST
X-MS-OLK-FORCEINSPECTOROPEN:TRUE
BEGIN:VTIMEZONE
TZID:FLE Standard Time
BEGIN:STANDARD
...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Send an event invitation from MS Outlook
2. Open the e-mail in KMail
Actual Results:
Empty e-mail is shown

Expected Results:
Event invitation is shown with accept/reject etc. possibilities

Previously it has worked for me, but really slow (it took about 10-20 seconds until the invitation was shown). Since 4.10 or so it has not been working.

need a test case.
(you can send me in private if you want)
Comment 2 Laurent Montel 2013-06-12 11:57:03 UTC
Work fine here with you testcase.
Comment 3 Silver Salonen 2013-06-12 12:31:49 UTC
So can I debug it somehow in my own Kmail?
Comment 4 Laurent Montel 2013-06-13 06:09:22 UTC
Do you have an vcard attached on your email for example ?
After that for debugging you need to have full source code compiled.

Do you see other invitation ?

Tested sending from Mozilla Calendar too and KMail does not show that event either. So it's not limited to MS Outlook.

But no, I don't see any attachment in the e-mail.

Are you sure that it's duplicate with "Bug 325552 - Apper crashes several times during a system update" ????? same for other comment

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.

I can't see Outlook invitations in KMail 5.2.3, using
KDE Frameworks 5.28.0 and Qt 5.6.1
