Description Andrew Brouwers 2013-06-05 14:13:23 UTC
On a new KDE installation, I was having trouble setting the default search engine in rekonq. After looking around my distro's forum, I noticed that in order to do this, konqueror needs to be installed.

I'm sure there is a technical reason for this (and recycling something that interfaces with KDE's settings), but it seems rather silly to not have a sane default (like google?) shipped with rekonq, nor the ability to choose from a small list, without konq. being around on the system.

Is there a way to do this, without the dependency ?

Reproducible: Always

This bug will be fixed in kde5. Until now, we cannot move the UI coming from konqueror in the right place (kde-runtime).
