Not sure if the drivers and libraries expose this, but would it be possible to be select icons to display in the OLED displays next to the Express Buttons? It would be very useful to be able to set different icons for each profile to help keep track of the button layout when juggling several profiles.

And I can confirm it works. However, it requires unloading the wacom module. Would be nice if upstream could incorporate that functionality into their driver.

I've used "the kargulus method" and it works quite well. But having tried the new-ish Wacom settings plugin for Gnome 3.10 I was quite impressed.

Later on his work was incorporated in Gnome upstream.
