Description martien friedeman 2013-06-02 23:21:55 UTC
Great image viewer. Thank you!

I have set gwenview to 'view mode'.
With the 'zoom to fit' option set.
Full screen mode is 'off'.

I am opening a 1616x2432 jpg image. The monitor I display it on is a 1280x1024 in portrait mode. It was turned right, 90 degrees.

No image shows when the window opens maximized. I can get an image to show when I use the zoom slider.

An image does show when the window opens non-maximized.

If the window is slightly larger or smaller, the image does show. Hence my suspicion of zoom.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a 1616x2432 jpg image with gimp.
2. find a 1024(w)x1280(h) monitor.
3. open the image with gwenview with its window spanning the entire screen
4. confirm that no image shows
5. use the zoom slider.
6. confirm that the zoom slider made the image appear.
Actual Results:
No image shows at the 49% zoom level.
If zoomed at another level it does show.

Expected Results:
Image should show.

Sorry, I can't reproduce this. Could you please measure the exact height and width in pixels of the area in which gwenview shows the image (including the (black?) borders). You can do this with e.g. kruler.

The area available for the image in my setup is:
Height: 1193px
Width: 1024px

I'll include a screen dump of the window.

Another thing caught my eye:
The zoom slider needs to be used to obtain an image.
Clicking the zoom '+' has no effect.

Interesting bug. Can't reproduce, and it's been a while. Let me know if you still hit it with a more recent KF5 version of Gwenview.

Works fine on version 17.04.2.
Thank you.
