Hi all :) I do extensive use of the "Special Windows settings" feature mostly to make usual apps remember its size and position, open at a specific place on the screen and so on. It's a feature that _I love_ and that makes a world of difference to me since it truly gives me the power to fully tailor my desktop experience. This way i noticed when using Kontact -to which I set a fixed main window size- that when I launch it the sidebar will be shrunken to its minimum size and the only way to have it restored is to resize the window - as a workaround I do a quick twice Super+Space that I bond to the Maximize Window effect. I supply a screenshot so you guys have a better idea of it. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch Kontact and set the main window to a fixed N size - please note I'm referring to the "Special Window settings" and not the "Special Application Settings". 2. Close Kontact and launch it again. 3. If things go "right" you should have a shrunken sidebar. Actual Results: I got a shrunken to its minimum sidebar that's impossible to drag and resize but that automatically restores itself once I start resizing the main window. Expected Results: The sidebar shows as intended. Please check supplied screenshot.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kontact (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
