Description illumilore 2013-05-28 21:20:28 UTC
When opening up the file from "http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/completion/?installer=Flash_Player_11.2_for_other_Linux_%28.tar.gz%29_64-bit", an ark window that has a single file called "install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tar-1" which is another tar file. Attempting to open this from within ark only brings up a file already exists dialogue. Nothing happens after I hit overwrite or cancel from that dialogue, when ark should either prompt the user on what to open the file with or open it itself.

Are you opening install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tar.gz with MD5 sum 3fe4e07a3ddf07fd2c7c3b7b8b4cf5b4? It works just fine here.
Comment 2 illumilore 2013-06-02 01:36:20 UTC
It opens in gnomes archive manager, but not in ark. I tried on two different machines when opening it and after downloading it a second time, ark fails to open it everytime.
Comment 3 Raphael Kubo da Costa 2013-06-02 09:12:16 UTC
That doesn't really answer my question -- please verify we are talking about the exact same file.
Comment 4 illumilore 2013-06-03 19:55:08 UTC
The filename is different, but the md5 is same.
Comment 5 Raphael Kubo da Costa 2013-06-03 20:28:41 UTC
OK; what libarchive version do you have installed? Can you run `bsdtar -tvzf' on that file and check if it also fails?
Comment 6 Jekyll Wu 2013-06-09 08:45:04 UTC
set correct status per comment #5
Comment 7 illumilore 2013-06-10 06:57:32 UTC
bsdtar -tvzf does not fail.
libarchive 3.1.2
Comment 8 Raphael Kubo da Costa 2013-06-10 11:05:44 UTC
Right. Which distribution or OS are you using?
Comment 9 illumilore 2013-06-10 18:23:34 UTC
kubuntu 13.04 w/ kde 4.10.4
Comment 10 Raphael Kubo da Costa 2013-06-11 14:04:34 UTC
I've set up a Kubuntu 13.04 x86-64 VM with KDE 4.10.3 and everything also worked -- the file has a different MD5 sum now, though, 7cb981b2189f4bdd38c6fac29964036b.

Can you check if it still fails? BTW, do both of the machines which you tested run KDE 4.10.4 with Kubuntu? Do you by any chance have access to a stock Kubuntu installation, or know if other Kubuntu users are having the same problem?

Closing while waiting for feedback.
