Description Roman Fietze 2013-05-21 05:53:24 UTC
After an update to the latest version of kmail2 from the openSUSE 12.2 repos for KDE 4.10, KDE:/Release:/410/openSUSE_12.2, the message windows no longer uses the selected font, but some very small and almost unreadable serif font.

If I go into the appropriate dialog to adjust this font, I still can change e.g. to italic or bold, and that attribute is used for the font in the message window, but the font itself, some monospace font, isn't.

The wanted font itself is available and being used in the folder and message list as well, and here it is displayed correctly.

A screen shot will follow as soon as I have access to the system showing that problem. And I will try to test this with a test account as well.

Reproducible: Always

kmail message windows font with settings dialog

After additional tests I found out, that this problem only shows up when using "Monospace", which I think is an alias.

As you can see, the font is displayed properly inside the font selection dialog, inside the message list (where the same font is selcted), but not in the message windows. "Use fixed" font was turned on and off with no effect.

Lower importance. The work around is not to select an alias, but the requested font directly.

Work fine here.
It's a problem with your distro (as you told me that it works with other font)

This font or alias works in all applications except KMail2.

It worked in all KMail2 in versions < 4.10.3.

It even works in all windows of KMail 4.10.3, except the message window. It works in the folder list window and in the message list window.
