-- Information about the crash:
Wifi ceased to work properly (dropped connection to AP) and KDE was slow and sluggish - this occurs once every few days, maybe once or twice a week - so I switched to tty1 to modprobe -r iwlwifi and reinsert, upon Alt+F7, KDE Daemon returned a seg fault

Lenovo Y570(0862) Notebook Computer running Linux Mint 14 - current updates were downloading and installing in the background

Which Plasma NM version do you use? You can see the version string in "Manage Connections" -> "Other".

Anyway, even kernel developers acknowledge that removing kernel modules is race condition prone, in other words: it should not be done, if you do it then you are assuming the risks.
