Description Tomasz Kalkosiński 2013-05-16 13:02:38 UTC
JIRA emails I receive are not threaded in message list. I tried all three methods: Perfect, Perfect and Reference, Perfect, Reference and Subject.

I think the reason is that these messages have both In-Reply-To and References headers filled, but there is never a parent with such ID. So they are in the same thread, but there is never a thread parent. JIRA developers say that it is set so, because you can start receiving mail during issue workflow, not from the begining, so they mark threads correctly with the same ID, but there is never parent.

I suspect that for some reason it never gets to Thread by Subject pass, so it would be matched perfectly. Subject is complicated as well.

Below are two samples of messages in same thread, but not threaded in KMail2.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
