A common use case in UI lists is to use left mouse to select an entry and shift+left mouse to select multiple entries, first and last.   Additionally, you can select individual multiple records with control+left mouse.

This does not work in the akregator ui.  You cannot select multiple articles to mark as read in the article title summary box.
